CAREERCHAT(UK) WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD – UK CAREER DEVELOPMENT AWARD (UKCDA) 2024

CareerChat (UK) is thrilled to announce that we have won the prestigious Career Development Institute’s award for Use of Technology in Career Development. This accolade celebrates four years of innovative work on ‘CiCi,’ a truly groundbreaking curated careers chatbot drawing on AI, including large language models. CiCi stands for Careers innovation and Careers intelligence.

Previously acknowledged as a top 20 finalist in the 2020 NESTA/DfE-funded CareerTech Challenge, the team unveiled ‘CiCi,’ an innovative careers chatbot that stands at the forefront of transformative technology. Earlier this year, we were selected to go into the second round of the 2024 Santander X Global Challenge : Education, Employability, and Entrepreneurship.

CiCi sets itself apart by prioritising 24/7 personalised career exploration, featuring conversation flows and videos mirroring the typical careers information and advice interactions between careers practitioners and clients. Notable functionalities include multilingual support, translating into 100+ languages, text-to-speech technology, and the option for users to download their carer exploration journey, engage with career guidance and speak to a human careers adviser. From its inception, shaped by career development professionals, CiCi has served 69,000+ young people and adult users, including students, careers/employability advisers, teachers, parents and those most vulnerable in local communities. CiCi has continuously evolved. Our latest AI and large language models (LLMs) addition, ‘Charlie,’ integrates ChatGPT 4, offering users an open chat feature to ask questions, explore interest and ideas.
